Global private equity firm, Abraaj Group, plans to raise a new fund, but have not disclosed a target, according to SEC filings.

The buyout giant made its intentions clear after filing an application this morning, only months after AltAssets reported that the firm was targeting $8bn. It is not known whether it is the same vehicle, however.

The Dubai-based firm manages around $10bn in assets, and boasts a global portfolio across consumer goods and services, industrials, energy and healthcare.

In 2016, it closed its first dedicated Turkey fund at $486m, with a further $40m raised for co-investment, against a target of $500m.

Earlier this year, AltAssets reported the firm had picked up Africa-based Java House from fellow private equity firm, Emerging Capital Partners in a deal reported at around $100m.

In January, the firm also made its first Chilean investment, acquiring a majority stake in Latin American home design and decoration business, Casaideas.
